I wonder who she votes for?

Certainly not Liberal, no. (Liberals are WAY above getting all decked out to hit Wal Mart on a Sunday afternoon (except in Nova Scotia).

Certainly not New Democrat, no, (doesn't the Federation of Labour have a boycott out on Walmart? (at least in Saskatchewan).

I am going to guess that our Wal Mart shopper votes conservative. And .... well.... happy shopping!

Perhaps.

It is sad when the corporate capitalist machine has ground people so far down that they feel they owe something to a store for the privilage of shopping there.

I would rather the Federation of Labour give up a fairly useless boycott and work on unionizing the store.

Heh. Reverse psychology GPM?

Unionize Walmart . . . Walmart closes shop. In the end you get what you want?

Snicker.

Actually Lance unlike many in my party I don't have a big problem with the way Walmart operates.

When it comes to small, dry, goods the consumer market is extremely efficient at providing the goods people want at the lowest possible price.

However, it is not fair for Walmart to engage in (my opinion) unfair labour practices like hiring 2 part-time people to do the job of one full-time person to avoid paying benefits.

Walmart should share more of its profits with the employees that help them earn those profits.

A union, although not a perfect solution, is one of the few ways in which a corporation can be obligated to pay fair value for labour.

Ya know what, I agree. Which is why I try _not_ to shop at Walmart. Hell, I even buy the vast majority of my groceries at the local Co-Op. I even have a number.

Go figure.

lance - do you get ALL dressed up to go to the Co-op store? (I know I do!)
