Conservative MP tells outright Lie in Letter to the Editor

According to the Saskatchewan NDP caucus website: Brad Trost, one of the Conservative MP's from Saskatchewan, said the following in a letter to the editor:

"Finally, it should be noted that only the Conservatives are fighting for Saskatchewan to receive the full benefits of it's natural resources. The Liberals and the Bloc Quebecois are opposed to Saskatchewan receiving those benefits and the federal NDP has studiously avoided the issue. Calvert should be lobbying federal Leader Jack Layton to support the Conservatives"
The site then goes on to list the three-year record of Jack Layton and the Federal NDP fighting for Saskatchewan on this issue.

Woops!

Like the site says, "why the big lie, Mr. Trost?"

I noticed this immediately on reading the Trost letter because I've been collecting quotes from Sask MPs on equalization from Hansard.

Not a week before Trost's letter was published, Layton was standing up in the House to demand of Harper that he keep his promise to the people of this province.

First, Carol Skelton misleads people on the NDP's position on Afghanistan, and now Trost makes up nonsense about Layton's record on the equalization file.

Poor conduct from these CPC MPs.

How can Carol Skelton mislead the people on the NDP's position on Afghanistan when it keeps changing on a daily basis?

The NDP's position on Afghanistan - as passed at our convention last year - has remained consistant. If you are going to troll then at least do a better job of it.

This Trost thing really should be put out more in the news. It is quite fascinating that a MP would be a) so underly informed or b) someone who makes up things.
