Layton ahead of the Curve
Jack Layton has called for the troops engaging in "combat activity" to be redeployed, most notable to the northern part of Afghanistan for peacekeeping missions.
It seems that there is growing evidence that this makes sense.

So, you think that the Canadian troops should leave the fighting in the south and flee north? How is that different from cutting and running from a fight? Why do you think the Taliban fighters won't see that as a victory and simply follow the troops north once it appears our troops are on the run? Or did you only want Canadian troops to leave the fight and not the other coalition forces. Is it okay for those countries to do the fighting, but not Canadians? Is that what you are saying? Why are we in Afghanistan if not to fight the Taliban which is causing the insecurity?

Why are we in Afganastan? That's a good question.
The CPC is now trying to play this as a fight to portect women and deal with the oppressive Taliban.
Too bad this is first we have heard about that.
Just like Bush and his weapons of mass distruction, the CPC is trying to re-define why they entered the fight to begin with.
